VARIABLE LENGTH TYPE 3459 - STRAIGHT SHANK - STRAIGHT FLUTE LONG CARBIDE - FOR STEEL
Flute long carbide tips brazed to one piece hardened alloy steel bodies. Straight polished flutes. When ordering, specify desired length within overall length range. Eliminates need to special order reamers, saving time and money. These reamers have a controlled shank.
NAS 897 chucking reamers manufactured to national aerospace standards 897 C with flute long carbide. Tool geometry and carbide grade appropriate for material being machined.

Shanks are ground to the next smallest shank diameter listed in NAS 897 if tool diameter is within .005" of shank diameter.
